Central University of Odisha pays tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar
Koraput: The Central University of Odisha paid homage and floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India on his Mahaparinirvana Diwas, i.e. on his 54th Death Anniversary. On the occasion, Prof. I. Ramabrahmam, Vice-Chancellor addressed the University community and highlighted some of the great contribution of Ambedkar to our nation. He said “Dr. Ambedkar was instrumental in designing and delivering important socio economic frame works including the Constitution of India, Reserve Bank of India and guidelines for equity and inclusive development. He always fought for the social equality and justice throughout his life.”
Prof. Ramabrahmam, who completed one year of his term in the University this day, highlighted some of the important achievement of the University including joining of CUCET for admission, construction of Academic Block and Staff Quarters, opening of new departments, formation of Academic Council and Executive Council, making smart class rooms, entering into Higher Education Financing Agency(HEFA) and purchase of large volume of books for the University in his address. He also highlighted the future plans of the University including opening of Science programmes along with seven other programme.
Also present on the occasion were Prof. Asit Kumar Das, Registrar; Prof. S. K. Palita, Dean, School of Biodiversity and Conservation of Natural Resources, Prof. Saroj Panigrahi, Profesor of Mathematics, Prof. P. Durgaprasad, Visiting Professor, Dr. Pradosh Kumar Rath, HoD I/c. Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication, Dr. Kapila Kemundu, HoD I/c., Sociology; Dr. Phagunath Bhoi, Public Relation Officer, Padmalochan Swain, Asst. Engineer present at the University campus and offered floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Students, teaching and non-teaching staff joined the function virtually through Google Meet platform. All the participants of the function followed the COVID-19 protocol.
