DSEJ sensitizes over 30000 students on “Post-Covid careers” in month long campaign
Jammu: COVID-19 Directorate of School Education Jammu, as part of the counselling cell activity calendar for summer zone schools of Jammu division, oriented the students of Higher secondary and High schools about – ‘Post Covid Careers’ using both online and offline modes.
The online/offline counselling sessions/communications on post covid careers were conducted by faculty counselors in High and Higher secondary schools of Jammu division, benefitting more than 30,000 students.
Besides this, group counselling sessions were also held on the topics like Career in Science, Commerce, Arts, what to do after 10th and 12th etc, during the month long campaign.
Faculty counselors developed IEC material, infographics, PPTs and other communication material to reach out to the students in an effective manner.
Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta appreciated the efforts put in by the faculty counselors, who under the guidance and supervision of Counselling cell DSEJ are working diligently to address the confusions and uncertainties of students as well as their parents regarding career opportunities, resulting from COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Romesh Sharma, Head counselling cell DSEJ emphasized that, “After the pandemic is over, the time is all the more difficult for students who had their career plans in place as there will be digital transformation in almost each and every field”, requiring adjustments.
District Nodal Officers at DIETs, Members of Psychological Task Force comprising District Counselling Coordinators and Zonal Counselling Coordinators provided support to the faculty counsellors to ensure smooth and effective culmination of these activities.
It is pertinent to mention here that all the Government High and Higher Secondary Schools of Jammu division have fully functional counselling cells, which help, guide and counsel students and their parents round the year.
