AMU faculty receives Young Engineers’ award

Aligarh: Dr Mohd Tariq, Department of Electrical Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University has been conferred with the Young Engineers’ Award for the academic year 2020-21, by the Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata. He has been selected for this award in recognition of his contributions to the field of Electrical Engineering. The Award carries a plaque and a certificate of appreciation.

Prof Pervez Mustajab (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology) said it is a matter of pride for the Faculty of Engineering and Technology that a prestigious award has been conferred on one of our young faculty members.

Prof Salman Hameed (Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering), while congratulating Dr Tariq on the achievement, said he is a hardworking faculty member and the award bears testimony to this. He said that such awards provide an impetus to young professionals to work hard and achieve excellence in research, technology development and technology transfer in various fields of engineering.

Dr Mohd Tariq is engaged in research work focused on development of power converters, energy storage devices and their optimal control for electri?ed transportation and renewable energy application. He has published more than 100 research papers in reputed international journals.

The Institution of Engineers (India) is a multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers with over 8 lakh members and a network of 113 centres in India and 5 overseas chapters.
