District Skill Committee Kathua finalizes skill development plan

Kathua: District Skill Committee Kathua today finalized the skill development plan here at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, O.P.Bhagat.

The meeting was attended by the members of the Committee representing various line departments.

Chairman DSC (District Development Commissioner) said that the focus of the skill development scheme should be to ensure creation of a robust skill ecosystem in the district, which will enable the youth to get maximum skilling opportunities within the district. He said that approximate 1200 trainees are trained annually in Long Term ITI courses and approximately 600 Students are to be trained in Govt/Private Skill Centres under Prime Minister Koushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY 3.0) 2020-21 launched recently by Govt. of India & JK UT Govt.

The Chairman DSC exhorted upon all the Departments to gear up for mobilization of candidates, Selection of Market oriented Job Roles for Training under PMKW 3.0 as next target for 2021-22 can be allotted any time by NSDC/JK Skill Dev. Mission.

“Get the data of passed out/certified candidates and share with Convener DSC for their Job placements in local Industries by holding Job Fairs/Rojgar Melas” the DDC directed. He said the representatives of Industry have given full assurance for absorbing the passed out trainees.

DDC stressed upon the Departments to encourage the Prime Minister Koushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY 3.0) 2020-21 Skilled Trainees to start their own Units by taking benefit of Central/UT Govt. Schemes.

The meeting was attended by CPO, Uttam Singh; Chief Education Officer, Jag Jeet Singh; District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Raheem; Project Manager, DIC, Kathua and other concerned officers.
