DC Ganderbal reviews restoration of essential services post snowfall
Ganderbal: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired a meeting to review the status of restoration of essential services and snow clearance operations after the recent snowfall in the district.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmed Baba, CMO, executive engineers of various wings, EO Municipality, AD food and other concerned officers.
At the onset of the meeting, the DC took brief from all the officials of line departments regarding the status of restoration of essential services including electricity, water supply, and snow clearance besides availability of essential commodities in the district.
The meeting was informed that snow is cleared on most of the roads including roads under R&B, PMGSY and Beacon.
Regarding restoration of electricity, it was given out that all receiving stations are functional besides, maximum damaged feeders and transformers are repaired or replaced.
CMO was instructed to ensure punctuality of all medical and paramedical staff in all health centers of the district to provide best healthcare facilities to the patients visiting there.
The DC complemented efforts of all the field functionaries for timely restoration of the roads, and other essential services across the district which got disrupted due to heavy snowfall thus saving people from any inconvenience during the snowfall. The DC directed officers of PDD to ensure replacement of damaged transformers in a time bound manner.
The advance restoration mechanism laid down by the District Administration across the district has ensured timely restoration of all the roads and essential services especially in far flung areas of the district, the DC maintained.
DC also gave necessary instructions to the officers regarding restoration of all services across the district and asked them to be responsive towards grievances of the public and ensure the grievances are redressed at earliest.
