DLC Ramban intensifies training-cum-awareness drive; sensitizes frontline workers
Ramban: District Level Committee (DLC), Ramban has intensified the training-cum-awareness drive to sensitize the field functionaries about implementation of Forest Rights Act, 2006 in the district.
In this regard, a training-cum-awareness programme was today held, here to acquaint the officials of Sub Divisional Level Committees (SDLCs) Batote and Ramban, besides field functionaries of Revenue, Rural and Forest Departments about the scope and provisions of the ACT.
Divisional Forest Officer, Ramban, Dr Rajan Singh and DFO Batote, Kuldeep Singh (Member of District Level Committee) informed the participants about the provisions and guidelines for effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act, 2006 through a powerpoint presentation.
The DFO informed that the first level basic component namely Forest Rights Committees (FRCs) formulated in the District shall now act as the executive arm of the Gram sabha. He further said that the claims of the forest rights under the Act from claimants shall be compiled by the FRCs, which will be submitted to the Sub division level Committee to get ascertained and finally to the District level Committee for approval.
The DFO Batote asked all the concerned Officers to get well acquainted and well versed with the salient features and guidelines of the Act to further sensitize the field functionaries and the FRC members, Gram Sabhas in their jurisdictions. He also discussed in detail the role of ground level field functionaries in implementation of the Act.
Meanwhile various questions were asked pertaining to theAct which was satisfactorily answered by the DFOs.
