High school students began their classes at SUMA UC
More than 80 high school students began an intensive period of college classes in the UC Summer Academic Season. The courses taught by the Faculty of Mathematics at SUMA UC this year are Pre-Calculus, Mathematical Reasoning, and Mathematics and Olympics.
Classes began with a welcoming ceremony for the 2021 generation of SUMA UC , which was attended by Dean Mario Ponce, the academic director of SUMA UC, Manuel Cabezas, the coordinator of School Projects of the UC Faculty of Mathematics, Sandra Garrido and the professors of the Faculty of Mathematics María Isabel Rauld, Gregorio Moreno and Anibal Velozo.

This program started with regular first-year courses from the Faculty of Mathematics, and the Faculty of Letters and the Faculty of History, Geography and Political Science have been incorporated with high-level workshops, whose applications are open:
- History of the United States: Domestic and Foreign Policy and its projection, dictated by the Faculty of History, Geography and Political Sciences.
- New Constitution and Youth Participation, dictated by the Faculty of History, Geography and Political Sciences.
- Writing Workshop: Brief Narrative, dictated by the Faculty of Letters
“We are working so that in the short term all the faculties of the university offer courses in this program”, indicates the director of the Faculty of Mathematics.
Students enrolled in SUMA UC courses can live a month with university classes, with access to talks and conferences, and have the same professors who teach classes throughout the year, living the university experience as just another newbie, but before leaving the school.
