Awareness programme on AB-PMJAY organised at Bonakoot, Bandipora

Bonakoot : The District Administration, Bandipora on Thursday organised a day lone awareness programme regarding Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme at Bonakoot block, here.

During the program, the speakers raised awareness among the audiences about the scheme and urged them to get enrolled to avail the benefit of this scheme.

The Block Development Officer (BDO) Nowshad Anjum while explaining the scheme to the people, said that the centrally sponsored scheme aims to reduce the financial burden on all patients especially poor and vulnerable groups arising out of catastrophic hospital episodes and ensure their access to quality health services.

He said another benefit of this scheme would be that treatment is not limited to government and private hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir only. Rather, treatment can be availed from thousands of hospitals empanelled under this scheme in the country.

On the occasion, Speakers urged the audience to inform other people also who were not able to participate in the awareness program so that they can enroll themselves.

During the awareness programme, a special enrollment Drive was also launched during which more than 150 individuals got themselves enrolled for the scheme.

Among others Block Development Chairman Bashir Ahmad Baba, and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
