Financial Commissioner Health reviews implementation of PMJAY SEHAT scheme
Jammu: Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today convened a meeting of all concerned to review the implementation and performance made so far under recently launched Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan ArogyaYojana(AB PMJAY) SEHAT scheme in various districts across J&K.
Dulloo directed all the concerned to work in a mission mode to convert maximum of the IPD admissions into the beneficiaries under this scheme. He made these remarks while separately assessing the performance made by each district under this health scheme.
The meeting was attended by Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, Mission Director, NHM; Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal Government Medical College, Jammu; Dr Yashpal Sharma, MD JK Medical Supplies Corporation; Dr Renu Sharma, Director Health Services, Jammu; Satvir Kour Sudan, DG Planning (H&ME), Lotika Khajuria, State Drug Controller and other health officers along with representatives of the insurance company.
Dr Samia Rashid, Principal GMC, Srinagar, Dr Samir Mattoo, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Principals of other Medical Colleges, several Deputy Commissioners and Chief Medical Officers participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
The Financial Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners and concerned health officers to accelerate the process of registration of people for taking benefit under this scheme. He asked them to improve their performance and help people in every manner as all of us are public servants. He encouraged the Directors and CMOs to visit the health institutions and see if they need any kind of assistance or corrective actions to undertake.
Dulloo asked the officers to show up to the mark performance and take their tasks with utmost seriousness. He enjoined upon them that there is no other way than showing the anticipated progress. He asked them to train the Aaraogya Mitras of every health institution so that they have all the knowledge and skill to help people to receive the benefit.
He impressed upon them that PMJAY SEHAT is a universal health benefit scheme so it should be our endeavour that maximum people are its beneficiaries. He advised them to work out a strategy to convert most of the IPD admissions into the beneficiaries as the registration process is simple requiring least documentation.
The FC also urged upon the officers to create ample awareness among the masses about this scheme. He emphasised that the LG has desired that posters, banners are displayed in every panchayat depicting the benefits and process of registration under this scheme. He asked each DC and CMO to work in this direction.
Dulloo also directed the Nodal agency and the insurance company to visit the health institutes and see if any kind of problems are faced by them. He directed to provide them the requisite technical assistance, listen to their grievances and give instant solutions to them. He further asked them to enhance workforce and work towards doubling their performance so that the set targets are met within the timeframe.
The FC was informed that till date 20,02,261 beneficiaries have been enrolled and 1,91,370 golden cards already generated under SEHAT scheme. Moreover under AB PMJAY 13,12,870 beneficiaries have been enrolled and 12,49,211 gold cards generated so far, the meeting was informed.
It was given that the performance was made despite the challenge of Covid-19 pandemic. The officers assured that now when the effects of the pandemic have receded to a lot of extent it is natural that the performance of registrations of beneficiaries would take a quantum leap in the days to come.
