World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) elects BIL MD & CEO Ambarish Datta as the Vice-Chair of the Financial Education and Literacy Group to represent Asia Pacific
Mumbai: Mr. Ambarish Datta, Managing Director and CEO, BSE Institute Ltd. has been elected as the Vice-Chair of the Financial Education and Literacy Group representing the Asia Pacific at World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) Established in 1961, the WFE is the global industry association for exchanges and clearing houses. WFE represents over 200 market infrastructure providers. WFE exchanges are home to nearly 45,000 listed companies, and the market capitalization of these entities is over $67.9 trillion; furthermore, around $84.18 trillion (EOB) in trading annually passes through the infrastructures WFE members offer.
As the Vice Chair of The Financial Education & Literacy Study Group (FESG), Ambarish Datta will work with the leading global exchanges of the world to advice on Financial Education policies for Market infrastructure providers, bring global best practices in Financial Literacy, develop regulatory certifications and enhance skills in the industry and help make it a more safe and secure environment for investors.
The WFE has in the course of its five and a half decades of existence helped its members weather some of the most far-reaching transformations in the history of public exchanges. These dramatic changes included the deregulation of fixed commissions and demutualisation as exchanges responded to competitive pressures from the global investment banks and the need to provide better services to their customers.
As the Vice Chair of The Financial Education & Literacy Study Group (FESG), Ambarish will work with the leading global exchanges of the world to enhance skills in the industry and help make it a more safe and secure environment for investors.
Speaking on this occasion Ambarish Datta said, “It is an honour to be elected as the Vice Chairman of the FESG at WFE, and look forward to working with the representatives of the global exchange community.
