DDC reviews operation of stone quarries, institutional plantation at Kupwara
Kupwara: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the operation of stone quarries in the district.
The meeting discussed threadbare various measures to ensure operation of stone quarry at Gugloosa and Khazan Matti in Kralpora tehsil of Kupwara.
The concerned officers were asked to provide fresh NOCs to make the quarries functional in the district and necessary license be issued accordingly.
It was informed in the meeting that the function of stone quarries is instrumental for providing raw material for carrying developmental works, besides, envisages income avenues for local people.
The DDC sought a fresh inspection report of the quarries from the DMO within a week’s time in consultation with concerned DFO and Tehsildar.
The DDC, in another meeting with concerned officers, discussed launching of an institutional plantation drive in Kupwara district.
The meeting discussed various points with regard to plantation in government institutions including Schools, Panchayat Ghars, Public parks and office premises.
On the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned officers to identify the land at their office premises for plantation.
Among others, DPO Kupwara, DFO Kamraj, CEO and other concerned were present in the meeting.
