IIM Amritsar Students perform Flash Mob at Attari Border
Amritsar: On the occasion of 72nd Republic Day, the Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar, celebrated the event with full zeal and enthusiasm. The ceremonial flag hoisting was performed by Prof. Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, Director – IIM Amritsar. Addressing the students at the event, he emphasized how we can all be more responsible in what we are doing and culminate our efforts towards creating a great future for our nation. IIM Amritsar also witnessed some mesmerizing cultural performances by the students.
Being a champion for diversity and inclusivity, IIM Amritsar encourages participation of faculty, staff and students in every institutional event. Therefore, following the address of the Director, faculty, staff and students also addressed the gathering.
Prof. Mukesh Kumar, Chairperson of Public Relations, enunciated how the Constitution has served as a tool fulfilling the aspirations of millions of citizens of this country and has been instrumental in ensuring freedom for all citizens. He also requested the students to adopt unconventional means but not to support unconstitutional methods to pursue success. Later, Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Chairperson of Alumni Relations, also addressed the students and urged on them to reflect on the purpose of this celebration as the nation celebrated its democracy.
Dr. Simrandeep Singh Thapar, Administrative Office, represented the staff by addressing the gathering on this occasion. Two students of MBA 20-22 batch also came forward to share their messages with the audience on this occasion. While Mr. Krishna Swaroop talked about the presence of diverse culture and views on the campus beneficial for student learning, Ms. Niharika Ghose stated that to realize our Constitution makers’ dream, we must collectively shed our old inhibitions and cultivate a new consciousness, which sees this country as a single entity.
With patriotism in hearts and fervor to be of service to the nation, IIM Amritsar students paid tribute to the nation’s brave hearts by performing a Flash Mob at the Attari border. It was a fun-filled and enthusiastic evening with the students of IIM Amritsar dancing to the tunes of the patriotic songs and paying their homage to the nation’s heroes. The energy, enthusiasm, and excitement present at the border were palpable, and the students extracted the energy from the crowd and performed to their true potential at the border.
