DDC Rajouri discusses minor mineral mining plan

 

Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri,Rajesh K Shavan on Saturday convened a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss the modalities for the approval of minor mineral mining plan in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf; Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria; Executive Engineer, I&FC , Sageer Malik; Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Nowshera,HS Bahal; Project Officer DUDA, Kavita and District Mineral Officer,Dr.JS Pawar.

The concerned officer from Geology and Mining Department informed the meeting that as many as 30 minor mineral blocks have been e-auctioned in the month of June 2020 in the district and the same have been differentiated through geo-tagging. It was also brought to the notice of the DDC that the e-auctioning was done without specifying the khasra number of the land where these blocks are located.

The DDC said that since the bids have been issued without enlisting the details of the land involved in the blocks, there is urgent need to work on this issue.

It was decided in the meeting that a team consisting of the concerned authorities of the Forest, Fisheries, I&FC and Jal Shakti shall jointly carry out an exercise for the verification of the land to make sure that no private land is involved in these blocks. He asked for completing the exercise within a week.

The DDC also asked the Geology and Mining Department to involve the local PRIs in the mining process to ensure that the mining is done as per the terms and conditions mentioned in the auction in the areas of their respective jurisdiction.
