IPPI arrangements finalised at Ganderbal

Ganderbal: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today convened a meeting of Health Department to give final shape to the arrangements for successful implementation of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) for the district scheduled on 31 January, 2021.

During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on deployment of staff, availability of doses, establishments of vaccination booths, mobile teams and other related arrangements.

The CMO informed the meeting that all the necessary arrangements for effective anti-polio vaccination drive have been put in place in the district. It was given out in the meeting that 48013 children in the age group of 0-5 years will be administered vaccines at 232 vaccinations booths to immunize them against the disease during the programme.

While reviewing the deployment of staff for vaccination, it was informed that a total of 956 workers have been deployed for the vaccination programme including supervisors, health workers, ASHA workers, Anganwari workers besides other volunteers.

Among others the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmed Baba, Chief Medical Officer and other officials of the Health Department.
