DDC Kupwara urges officers to play pro active role vis-à-vis resolving public issues
Kupwara : The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Imam Din today urged upon the officers and field functionaries of the district to play a proactive role in resolving the problems of the people.
The DDC said this while addressing a joint meeting of district officers and public representatives at Environmental Hall, Handwara.
Speaking at the occasion, the DDC said that the Government has already devised a mechanism in the form of Block Divas which is meant to address the problems of the people at block level, adding that the District Administration have intensified the efforts to reach the people and resolve their issues at grassroots level.
Earlier, the ADC Handwara briefed the DDC about the administrative profile of the Handwara sub division.
Meanwhile, the elected representatives of different constituencies put forth various developmental issues and problems of their concerned areas before the chair. The issues raised include erratic power supply, non availability of potable water and irrigation, maintenance of inner link roads, augmentation of medical facilities in NTPHCs and PHCs of the sub division Handwara.
The DDC heard the representatives patiently and assured them for proper and timely resolution to their genuine demands. He issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for taking note of the problems of the people and resolving them on priority.
Replying to a query about unhoused school buildings, the DDC said that the administration will conduct a safety audit of all school buildings across the district to ensure safety of the children.
ADDC Kupwara, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, ACD, CMO, CEO, District and Sectoral Officers, DDC Chairman, President, MC Handwara besides, ULB, DDC and BDC members and PRIs participated in the day long public darbar.
