DDC Poonch reviews progress of COVID19 vaccination drive

Poonch: District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Rahul Yadav chaired a meeting of the District level Task Force to review the progress achieved in COVID19 vaccination in the district.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramesh Angral; ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain; CEO Tourism, Dr. Mohd. Tanveer; ACR, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; SDM Mendhar, Dr. Sahil Jandyal; SDM , Surankote, Mohd. Saleem; Nodal Officer Quarantine , Zamood Ahmed and Dr. Rahul Sharma, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. G.A Malik; District Social Welfare Officer, Shakeel Ahmed; BMO Mendhar, Officers from Paramilitary forces, besides other concerned officers and Anganwari workers were present.

After threadbare discussion, a strategy for further vaccination of frontline workers and paramilitary forces was planned. It was also decided that the one BSF personnel will be nominated as Nodal officer of their different locations.

The Chief Medical Officer said that from tomorrow the vaccination of police, BSF and frontline workers will be started.

The DC said that the vaccination drive will be started for general public from March 6 and the first priority will be given to the persons above 50 years.

The DDC directed the BMOs to generate massive awareness among the masses in their respective jurisdiction about the vaccination drive to ensure universal coverage.
