Blanket Distribution Camp held at Krishi Bhawan Jammu
Jammu: To help underprivileged people amid winter season, a blanket distribution camp was today organized here at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo.
The blanket distribution camp was arranged by Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) in collaboration with Directorate of Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Jammu.
The programme was chaired by Joint Director of Agriculture (Marketing), K. K. Sharma in presence of guest of honour, S. K.Gupta, Director Extension, SKUAST Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, K. K. Sharma underlined that initiatives like this provide opportunity to create awareness among general masses to help others who might be in need and are not privileged enough. He lauded the role of IFFCO for taking such initiative of kindness and encouraged to organize such camps in future also to help the poor and needy.
Joint Director Agriculture (Extension), Shahid Iqbal Sheikh, in his welcome address, said that such free camps help the poor people who are otherwise unable to buy the blankets from the market. About 200 blankets were distributed among the casual labours, daily wagers, helpers, safai karmcharis of the Agriculture Department.
Earlier, Bahadur Ram, State Marketing Manager IFFCO, in his introductory address shared that under Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, IFFCO has distributed 5000 Blankets till date in JK UT through different camps to underprivileged. He further told that IFFCO is committed to extend helping hand always during the hour of need like natural calamities, social welfare and medical aid etc
Those present on the occasion included Joint Director (Farms), Rajinder Sharma, PDO, Y.S. Sasan, Head ITGI, Gourav Mahajan, Field Officers IFFCO, Vivek Verma and other officers of the Agriculture Department. Vote of thanks was presented by Programme Officer, Sanjay Dhar.
