Udhampur admin reviews implementation of PC & PNDT Act

Udhampur : Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ashok Kumar today convened a meeting of District Advisory Committee to review the implementation of PC& PNDT act in the district.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. K C Dogra, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr Vijay Raina; Dy SP HQ, Sahil Mahajan; Consultant Gynecologist, Dr Sonika Gupta; Consultant Pediatrician, Dr Deepak Kumar; Consultant Radiologist, Dr Manisha Langar; besides Advocate Jai Dev Salathia, President NGO, ‘Jiyo aur Jeene do’ Tariq Shah.

Threadbare discussions were held on various issues which included mechanism for monitoring and implementation of PC&PNDT Act, holding of IEC activities for general awareness etc.

The members also discussed the measures to improve the implementation of the Act through organization of awareness programmes by health department in collaboration with NGOs and involving the NGO and legal expert in the monitoring/ inspection of the ultrasound clinics.

Meanwhile, another review meeting of National Program for control of blindness and visual impairment was held today under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ashok Kumar at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.

During the meeting, the chairman took detailed review of the program and directed all to work in close coordination for better implementation of the program in the district.

Among others, Consultant Ophthalmologist DHU, Dr Ashwani Kumar and Dr D N Sharma from KLSM Rotary Hospital Udhampur.
