Cognitive skills education startup WizKlub raises INR 6 Cr in pre Series A round
Bangalore: WizKlub, a holistic cognitive development edtech startup that builds future skills for school children through its HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) and SmartTech programs, has raised funding of INR 6 crore with participation from existing investor Incubate Fund India, bringing the total funds raised to INR 15 crore so far. The company plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate growth and run rate.
WizKlub was founded in February 2018 by serial entrepreneur Amit Bansal who has had two successful ed-tech exits, along with a leadership team with rich experience in education. WizKlub’s programs develop skills in children aged 5-15 years that make them ready to succeed in this rapidly changing world. WizKlub certified trainers impart these skills through an AI powered tech platform that delivers a personalized learning path for every child. The WizKlub HOTS Program, develops higher order thinking skills to ensure that every child is a smart reader, smart thinker and a smart problem solver. The WizKlub SmartTech Program, a first-of-its-kind for children as young as 6 years, builds lifelong skills and confidence to create tech products by application of coding, robotics, smart devices and AI. The latest product from the company is a programmable smart device called ‘WizGear’ where a child gets a new product module to code and build, every month.

Global movement of edtech in light of the Covid19 pandemic has already seen unprecedented growth in the Indian market, followed by the reforms in the New Education Policy favourable to e-learning. There is a need for supplementary education for students in cognitive skills who otherwise grow up in an environment dominated by “rote learning”. India’s edtech sector is projected to hit $4 billion in revenues by 2025.
