DDC inspects progress of developmental works in Nowshera
Nowshera: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of Nowshera subdivision and reviewed the progress on developmental works being executed there.
The DDC was accompanied by the ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambayal; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Jal Shakti, SR Shukla; CMO, Dr. Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; ExEn Jal Shakti Nowshera, HS Bahal and EO Municipality Nowshera.
The DDC paid a visit to a filtration plant at Nowshera Town being executed by the Jal Shakti Department, where the concerned officer informed that the estimated cost of the project is Rs 96 lakh. He said the filtration plant will have the capacity of 45000 gallons per day. DDC asked the executing agency to complete the work on the project by the end of March,2021.
At SDH Nowshera, the work of which is being executed by the Public Works Department, the concerned Executive Engineer informed that the work on the project has been suspended due to shortage of funds and once the funds are made available, the work will be resumed.
The DDC also paid a visit to Tehsil Office Nowshera, where he directed the concerned authorities from PWD to blacktop the road leading to the office. He also took stock of the sanitation condition of the town and asked the MC Nowshera to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation in the town. He also directed him to start the work on beautification of all the chowks leading to the town and said that these are the first contact points with the town for outsiders and hence need proper upkeep.
