DDC Rajouri discusses material related issues for developmental projects

Rajouri: To discuss and resolve the issues related to the supply of the construction material for the various developmental works being executed in the district, the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Tuesday convened a meeting with the concerned officers, contractors and crusher owners here in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bunglow.

The meeting was attended by the SSP, Chandan Kohli; SE PWD, Shahid Latief; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; OC 58 RCC, ExEn PWD Rajouri, Mohd Zubair; ExEn PWD Nowshera, Prem Kapoor; ExEn PMGSY Rajouri, Subash Chander; ExEn PMGSY Budhal, Abdul Gani; ExEn REW, Noor Ali; ExEn JKPCC Rajouri, DMO, JS Pawar; EO Municipality Rajouri besides contractors and heads of the stone crushers were also present in the meeting.

President MC Rajouri, Mohammad Arief also attended the meeting.

A threadbare discussion with respect to the issues pertaining to the supply of the construction material for the developmental works was held in the meeting.

The DDC said that there is a dire need to resolve the issue of shortage of material caused by the closure of closure of some stone crushers in the district so that the developmental works don’t suffer.

The DDC asked the District Mineral Officer to check the documents of crusher owners and make sure that only the crushers possessing valid license, environment clearance operate in the district.

The DDC asked to ensure use of standard material in the construction by the executing agencies and warn of stern action as per the norms against the violators. Besides, he also asked them to strictly mention the source of the construction material in the DPRs.

The DDC directed the members of the Contractors Association to lift the material from the authorised source and maintain proper documentation of the same.
