The regional stage of the Higher School of Education in all subjects in Karelia traditionally ends at the end of February with the Olympiad in the German language. Despite the restrictions in many areas of life due to measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, February 20 and 22, 2021. the regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren in German was held in the usual full-time format with the preservation of all 6 types of assignments – 5 written and one oral. The members of the jury were teachers of the Department of German and French Languages of PetrSU, Head of the Department, Associate Professor, Ph.D. I.A. Kotyurova, Associate Professor, Ph.D. N.I. Tokko and senior teacher V.P. Petrov.
The competition was attended by 14 schoolchildren of Petrozavodsk out of 19 applicants (the rest, unfortunately, could not participate due to illness). On the first day, the participants completed written assignments: a lexical and grammatical test, tasks for reading, listening, writing and a country test, and on the second day they had to show their artistic creativity and speaking skills by playing a talk show in which participants were asked to discuss actual environmental problems.
According to the results of all 6 tests, the winner and 3 prize-winners were determined. Vera Nadezhda Lyubov, a student of the 11th grade of Lyceum No. 40, Kittner, who scored 104 points out of 120 possible, became the winner by a wide margin from the rest of the participants. The winners of the regional stage of the Olympiad, who scored more than 50% of the points, were representatives of Lyceum No. 40 and Gymnasium No. 30 named after D.N. Muzaleva.
