PMI Opens Nominations for PMI South Asia Awards 2021 to Honor Ground-breaking Projects
PMI South Asia invites project managers and project teams to earn the most prestigious recognition in the region through major award program
New Delhi: Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading professional association for project professionals and changemakers, has announced the call for nominations from India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka for PMI South Asia Awards 2021.
This award program, instituted in 2009 to recognize project teams and organizations that transform the region through inspiring projects, is well recognized by governments, NGOS, and project practitioners as the most prestigious award for the project management profession. Through these awards, PMI seeks to pay tribute to ground-breaking projects that demonstrate superior performance, exemplary implementation, and innovative processes.
The PMI South Asia Awards 2021 has been divided in six categories to recognize project teams that have delivered superior results through exemplary application of project management principles.
Category Large – A project, program, or similar initiative with a budget of more than USD 0.14 Billion
Category Medium – A project, program, or similar initiative with a budget between USD 14 Million to USD 0.14 Billion
Category Small – A project, program, or similar initiative with a budget between USD 700,000 to USD 14 Million
Category Micro – A project, program, or similar initiative with a budget less than USD 700,000 but more than USD 70,000
Category Contribution to the Community – This award recognizes and honors significant initiatives undertaken by corporate bodies or organizations as part of their corporate social responsibilities activities.
Category NGO – This award recognizes and honors a project team that has achieved superior results for projects, programs, or similar initiatives implemented by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

Coming out of a year with so much turmoil, I’m certain this year’s nominations will be truly remarkable.”
Last year’s winners of the awards include esteemed organizations like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Sterlite Power, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd, ITT Corporation India Pvt. Ltd., Rockwell Collins (India) Pvt. Ltd., and Amar Seva Sangam.
Each category will have a maximum of one winner and one runner-up. The winners will be announced at the PMI South Asia Conference 2021 later in the year.
The application process is divided into a preliminary and final stage. In the preliminary stage, the nominee submits brief information about their project. If selected, the nominee will move to the final stage where detailed project information will be submitted. The last date for sending nominations is 10 April 2021. There is no application fee for sending nominations.
