Government College for Women, Udhampur celebrates women’s day

Udhampur : Government College for Women, Udhampur today celebrated the International Women day with great fervour and enthusiasm under the supervision of Dr. Seema Sharma, Head of Department of Music.

Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion.

The programme started with the lighting of the traditional lamp and Saraswati Vandhana followed by the welcome address by Dr. Seema Sharma

Addressing the students, the chief guest motivated the students by highlighting the roles of great women achievers, who left their indelible marks in different spheres of life. She wished and exhorted for their more proactive role to live the theme of the day “Choose to Challenge” for orienting their future to become a precious human resource and extending their indispensable benefits to the society.

Later, the students of the college presented a colourful cultural programe featuring dance, speeches, songs, poems, and Skits highlighting the role of the women in the society and the challenges faced by them.

Nisha and Sakshi conducted the proceedings of the event whereas Dr. Anita Sharma, presented vote of thanks.

Among others who were present in the occasion were Prof A.K. Raina, Prof Kewal Kumar, Prof. Shallu, Prof. Roopa and Dr. Shaveta.
