Government Degree College, Nowshera hosts series of activities to celebrates International Women’s Day

Nowshera: Government Degree College, Nowshera organized series of activities to celeberate International Women’s Day.

A symposium on the theme “Women Empowerment” was organised in which a large number of students and faculty members participated and shared their valuable words. The programme was presided over by the College Principal, Dr. Surinder Kumar Sharma.

A community awareness programme was also organized at Government Middle School, Darshan Nagar, Nowshera.

The main purpose of this awareness programme was to encourage the women to become self-reliant and to aware them about their health issues.

As many as 30 women of the area attended the programme. They were demonstrated the technique of oyster mushroom cultivation (Dhingri) and enlightened about their health. They were also made aware about the menstrual hygiene which is still a taboo in the society. A Prominent woman of the locality, Santosh Devi was also felicitated with a certificate and momento for her exemplary social work.
