Intl. Women’s Day: DLSA Kathua organises awareness programme on Women protection laws, schemes
Kathua: District Legal Services Authority Kathua today organised an awareness programme on women’s rights to mark International Women’s Day.
Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Kathua Aarti Mohan, presided over the event held at Government Degree College.
In her address, the Secretary DLSA explained the role and importance of women in the society and emphasized on Women Empowerment. She also highlighted the various laws and schemes introduced by the Government for the benefit of women and also impressed upon the audience to take maximum benefit of the same.
On the occasion, Principal of the College, Asha Ram Sharma also shared his views on Women Empowerment and advised the girl students to be career conscious and economically independent.
Coordinator Women Centre Dr.Rachana also addressed the gathering and stressed that girl should know their legal rights & be independent.
The programme was attended by the students of Govt. Degree College, Staff members & Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Kathua.
Besides, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Hiranagar also organized a programme on “International Women’s Day” at Government Girls High School Hiranagar in collaboration with the Education department. Similarly, at Basohli, the programme was held at Village Bhoond.
Likewise Tehsil Legal Service Committee Bani also organized a programme on “International Women’s Day” at Village Gatti Bani. At Billawar, a programme was held at Govt. Middle School Dadwara with the collaboration of Education department Billawar & At Mahanpur, Tehsil Legal Services Committee also organized a programme at Govt. Degree College Mahanpur.
