Medanta -The Medicity organises the 8th Delhi-NCR Regional Brain Bee contest
Gurugram: In continuation of its commitment to innovation in health sciences, Medanta – The Medicity organised the 8th Delhi-NCR Regional Brain Bee quiz contest in association with Indian National Brain Bee. Biology students of eleventh standard from several schools in Delhi NCR participated in the contest, that tested their knowledge about the human brain on topics such as intelligence, emotions, memory, sleep, vision, hearing, sensation, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, addictions and brain research.
Subham Chopra from Salwan Public School, Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi was declared winner at the end of an exciting and enriching session.
Champion of the regional contest, Subham will next compete with winners from other states at the 11th Indian National Brain Bee championship finals in April 2018. The national level winner will go on to participate in the International Brain Bee Championship, scheduled to take place in Germany during the Forum of Neuroscience (FENS) conference in July 2018.
The Brain Bee contest focusses on the need for innovative solutions for treating diseases of the brain and central nervous system. It aims to get students interested in neurosciences by highlighting the existing and future opportunities in biomedical research.
On the occasion, Dr. VP Singh, Chairman – Institute of Neurosciences Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram said, “This is an attempt to motivate young students to study the brain and inspire them to pursue careers in neurosciences.
