DC Ramban inspects construction works at District Hospital

Ramban: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, Sunday visited the District Hospital to review the functioning of the hospital and working of the administration.

The DC was accompanied by the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mohammad Farid Bhat, during the visit.

The Deputy Commissioner went around the wards and interacted with the patients and attendants. He advised them to wear masks and maintain physical distance in order to prevent Covid-19 infection.

The Deputy Commissioner also checked the roster of the doctors and other paramedical staff on call and duty and passed directions for ensuring that all medical facilities are extended to OPD & IPD patients in a hassle-free manner. He also directed the hospital administration to regulate parking of vehicles in the hospital campus for which additional manpower has been augmented.

The Casualty Medical Officer on duty informed the Deputy Commissioner about the availability of adequate stock of medicines, ambulances for referrals and Dial 108 & 102 services to cater to medical emergencies.

While emphasizing upon meeting the targets fixed by the Government under Covid vaccination for district Ramban, the Deputy Commissioner directed the CMO to seek daily reports from BMOs along with lists of vaccination doses administered to people over the age of 60 years and those with co-morbidities between the ages of 45 and 59.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the ongoing construction work on the residential quarters for the doctors and paramedical staff within the District Hospital premises. He urged JKPCC, the executing agency, to expedite the completion of the project within the stipulated timeline as it will enable round-the-clock availability of healthcare workers at the hospital.
