Prof Rajmohan Gandhi to deliver lecture on March 16

Aligarh:  As part of ongoing online Lecture Series about AMU Centenary Celebrations 2020, Sir Syed Academy, AMU is going to organize a lecture on 16th March 2021 at 8:00 PM. The guest speaker, Prof Rajmohan Gandhi will deliver his address on “Does the Arc of History bend towards Justice? Some Reflections”.

Prof Gandhi is an eminent India historian. He is a biographer and a researcher at the Centre for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA. His paternal grandfather is Mahatma Gandhi, and his maternal grandfather is Chakravarthi Rajagopalachari. He has been engaged for a half century in efforts for trust-building, reconciliation and democracy and in battles against corruption and inequalities.

He has written around 13 books including A Tale of Two Revolts, Understanding the Muslim Mind, Revenge and Reconciliation: Understanding South Asian History, Eight Lives: A Study of the Hindu-Muslim Encounter, Modern South India: A History from the 17th Century to Our Times etc.

The event will be presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tariq Mansoor.
