CUPB TLC commenced one-week Interdisciplinary two Online National Workshops on Political Science and History discipline
Bathinda: The Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) at Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) under the guidance of honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, commenced Ministry of Education sponsored one-week Interdisciplinary two Online National Workshops from 15th to 19th March on History and Political Science disciplines. These workshops are being organized under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) with the objective to enhance the teaching-learning potential of young faculty members. The distinguished speakers of the inaugural session were Prof. Kumar Ratnam, Member-Secretary, Indian Council of Historical Research, and Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, Bihar. A total of 117 faculty members representing 19 states & UTs are participating in both these Workshops.
The topics of these Workshops conducted on Political Science and History disciplines are ‘Mapping Vasudhaiva Kutumbhkum through Health Diplomacy: India’s Post-Pandemic Experience’ and ‘Ebb and Flow: Surveying the emerging and declining trends in History and allied disciplines’ respectively.
In his presidential address, Prof. Raghvendra Prasad Tiwari, the Vice Chancellor, encouraged participants to qualitatively enhance the teaching-learning process, focus on research and create new knowledge in their respective discipline.
At the beginning of inaugural session, Dr Vinod Arya, TLC Coordinator, delivered Welcome Address. After this the Programme Coordinators Dr. Bawa Singh from Political Science discipline and Dr. Vikas Rathee from History discipline put a light on Workshop’s Theme. Prof. V.K. Garg, Director TLC, motivated the participants to actively participate in all the sessions of this workshop, enhance their interdisciplinary understanding on the issues of historical research in India, and draw advanced strategies to actualize the vision of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam through health diplomacy.
The resource persons of this workshop will be eminent personalities who will share their views on different topics. This lecture series will continue till 19th March, the concluding day of the workshop.
