Dr Sudan discusses modalities for making MCH Gandhi Nagar functional

Jammu: A meeting to discuss various issues pertaining to make Mother and Child Hospital (MCH) Gandhi Nagar functional was today held here under the chairpersonship of Principal Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals, Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma .

The meeting was convened in view of the denotification of the Gandhi Nagar hospital by Director Health Jammu. It was decided in the meeting to operationalize OTs and labour room at SMGS and MCH Gandhi Nagar Jammu for Gynae & Obst. Covid patients.

After threadbare discussion, it was decided that the existing post-partum care (PPC) area in SMGS Hospital, Jammu shall be used for the management of Obst.& Gynae Covid-19 positive patients.

It was also decided in the meeting that the Covid-19 positive new born babies shall be kept in the paediatric surgery OT and Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) shall be done outside the PPC by installing a Kiosk.

The PMC was apprised that most of the equipments are available for starting of the OTs. She stressed upon the start of Covid OT also in addition to non Covid theatres in view of the upward trend of Covid -19.

The meeting further decided that SMGS function as Covid-19 dedicated hospital for the time being till MCH Gandhi Nagar is fully operationalized.
