World Oral Health Day at ZADC

 

Aligarh: Demonstrations of effective tooth brushing for children and adults, rinsing the teeth with a mouth wash and other dental hygiene practices to remove leftover germs that cause tooth decay, bad breath and gum problems were done to raise awareness on the ‘World Oral Health Day’ by the dentists of the Department of Periodontics and Public Health Dentistry, Dr Z A Dental College (ZADC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Inaugurating the programme, Prof Rakesh Bhargav (Dean, Faculty of Medicine) explained the importance of dental health and dental hygiene.

Prof ND Gupta (Officiating Principal, ZADC) spoke about why it is more imperative than ever to launch massive campaigns dedicated to raising awareness of the issues around oral health and oral hygiene.

Prof Afshan Bey (Chairperson, Department of Periodontics and Public Health Dentistry) with Prof Vivek Kumar Sharma, Dr Neha Agrawal, Dr Pramod Kumar Yadav and other faculty members conducted demonstrations with models and charts.

They also raised awareness on preventive measures to curb Covid 19.

A team of interns later visited the Urban Health Training Center (UHTC) where they displayed posters and carried demonstrations on oral and dental health.
