NBE conducts inspection of DNB surgery department at D H Pulwama
Pulwama: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) team led by Dr Gurpreet Singh today conducted an inspection of DNB surgery department of District Hospital Pulwama here.
During the inspection, the team visited different sections and wards including operation theatre, ECHO Lab, ICU, Laboratory and Post Operation wards and enquired about the availability of medicines, diagnostic and other facilities.
The team also took stock of feasibility for PG courses, manpower and machinery available in the hospital.
On the occasion Medical Superintendent D H Pulwama, briefed the team through a PowerPoint presentation about quality healthcare, emergency services, intensive care units, sanitation, blood bank, non-communicable diseases, implementation of Ayushmaan Bharat and other Govt sponsored schemes.
The team also interacted with Dr Mohammad Ayoub Bhat and Dr Shakeel Ahmad (Guides) and inquired about the functioning of the DNB surgery department.
Dr Gurpreet Singh expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the Hospital and said that DNB courses are expected to be ‘game changer’ for the health sector which could help the health department to post specialists in the rural hospitals, facing the dearth of specialist doctors.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq welcomed the team at District Hospital for the first inspection of the DNB department since inception.
He said that District Hospital has been accredited as one of the best health institutions and the endeavor of the District Administration is to make it an Institution of Excellence besides a premier Health Institution of South Kashmir.
Chief Medical officer, Medical Superintendent, State Nodal Officer, DNB Courses other concerned officers and officials were present on the occasion.
