Samba : District Development Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta, today chaired a meeting of bankers and line departments to review the achievements made under various financial sector schemes here at Mini conference hall.

The meeting was attended by Chief planning officer Sukhleen Kour; General Manager, DIC, Sansar Chand; LDM Samba, Ajay Koul; DDM NABARD, Shailesh Sharma; Chief Horticulture officer, Anil Gorkha; Head SBI Bank and representatives of other banks and line departments.

The LDM informed the meeting that the district has achieved 82% digital mode of payment with opening of new saving and others accounts. It was also informed that 374 financial literacy camps were organised in the district, while 5357 mudra loans were also sanctioned.

The achievement report of banks included sanctioning of 37842 credits cards; 48.93% CD ratio; 44.73% priority sector advances against the target of 40%; and Rs 263 crore credit flow to women beneficiaries under various government sponsored schemes, which is 9% of the total advances.

The District Development Commissioner appreciated the efforts of banks and allied sectors for improving credit advances in the priority sectors. She directed the concerned agencies to further enhance the CD ratio and also improve overall credit flow to women beneficiaries.

Reviewing the performance of line departments, the DDC exhorted them to achieve the targets and hold regular financial literacy camps in the district for providing better employment avenues to the youth under self employment schemes like PMEGP, NRLM, JKEGP and social security schemes. She further directed the participants to cover different stakeholders like ASHA and Anganwadi workers, NRLM SHG members, Labourers, MGNREGA workers, Social Welfare persons under Social Security Schemes and work in close coordination to further strengthen the financial health of the district.
