DC Bandipora visits landslide spots of Check Mantrigam Village

Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Friday visited landslide spots of Check Mantrigam village in Bandipora to review the situation arisen owing to landslide due to incessant rains in the area.

The DC on the occasion interacted with the residents of the area who expressed several apprehensions after the land slides.

Dr Owais gave patient hearing to the people and assured them that the district administration will take all possible measures to ensure their safety. He said the district administration has sent a team of experts to know the reasons about the caving in of earth and the landslides.

He said the administration will take measures based on recommendations of the experts to ensure safety of people.

The DC directed Tehsildar Bandipora to be stationed at the place to keep vigil on the situation. He said if need arises, the administration will relocate the affected families to ensure their safety till all preventive measures are taken.

Among others, Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zahid, Executive Engineer R&B, Tehsildar Bandipora and other senior officers of the district administration accompanied the DC during the visit.
