DDC Rajouri discusses issues regarding construction of GDC buildings
Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Monday convened a meeting with the concerned officers to discuss with them the issues regarding the construction of Government Degree College buildings in the district.
The meeting was attended by the ADC Rajouri, Sher Singh; Principal GDC Koteranka P Bambru; Principal GDC Darhal, DMO, Dr JS Pawar; Tehsildar Koteranka, Haqim Shah and Tehsildar Darhal.
About GDC Doongi, it was informed that the project has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 36 crore and the work was held up currently due to the want of Administrative approval.
Regarding GDC Koteranka and GDC Darhal, the concerned officer from the Geology and Mining Department informed that the strata of the proposed land for the GDC Building Koteranka at Kandi is loose and therefore not fit for construction purpose but the proposed site for the GDC Darhal is fit for G+1 building structure.
The DDC also discussed some of the possibilities which could favour the construction of work on GDC Koteranka like the use of lightweight material, erecting the columnar structures, construction of different blocks, development of proper drainage system etc and asked the concerned officer from the Geology and Mining department to consider these possibilities and submit the necessary report in this respect.
It was decided that a team comprising the Director Colleges, concerned officers from the Geology and Mining Department and officers from Geological Survey of India would pay a visit to the proposed site for the GDC Koteranka in the coming days and would submit the report at the earliest.
