DC sets stage for Youth Sammelan in Rajouri
Rajouri: Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri, (MoYAS,GOI) organised One-day seminar cum welcome and farewell program for Newly-Joining and Outgoing batches of National Youth Volunteers at Dak Bungalow Conference Hall, Rajouri in which Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan was the chief guest.
More than 80 participants from different blocks of District Rajouri were present. The Central idea of the program was to listen to the expectations of District Administration from Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rajouri.
DC while welcoming the newly selected National Youth Volunteers set an agenda for the future tasks to be performed by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rajouri. He comprehensively cited the Vision Agenda for the youth of the district. He also set the target for collection of database of youth of the district and declared to hold a Mega Youth Sammelan in the near future with the participation of the youth from all nooks and corners of District Rajouri. He empowered the outgoing and newly-joining National Youth Volunteers to become eyes and ears of the Administration. He exhorted the National Youth Volunteers to become the extended arm of the Administration and assist in the delivery of Governance at the doorsteps of the masses. He stated that governance can best be delivered by the involvement of youth as much as possible.
He gave the mandate of Women Empowerment to the Volunteers. The Deputy Commissioner also asked the Volunteers to help in identification of suitable land in each and every Panchayat for development of Playgrounds.
He also gave the monitoring roles to the Volunteers and instructed them to directly contact the District Administration in case of Non-Implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
Speaking during the program, Nitin, Distt Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rajouri presented the welcome address and claimed that Nehru Yuva Kendra is always ready to hold such mega conventions related to youth. Nitin added that the National Youth Volunteers and Youth associated with Youth Clubs are playing a vital role towards youth empowerment and will always be ready for any type of task given by the District Administration.
Glimpses of activities done by the Outgoing National Youth Volunteers performed during their tenure were also displayed. The Chief Guest also felicitated the Members of the Selection Committee. He also awarded the top performing National Youth Volunteers of the outgoing batch.
The proceedings of the program were efficiently managed by Vikrant Sharma, National Youth Awardee and State Level Resource Person of NYK Rajouri.
