Lancaster University: Lancaster University marks the death of HRH Prince Philip
To mark the death of HRH Prince Philip, the Union Jack flag will fly at half-mast at the University’s Bailrigg campus until after Prince Philip’s funeral.
Lancaster University holds long-standing relationships with Prince Philip and other members of the Royal Family. HRH Prince Philip was a patron of the Industrial Society in 1952. The Industrial Society is now known as the Work Foundation and is based at Lancaster University.
HRH Queen Elizabeth II is the visitor for Lancaster University, and in 1969, toured Lancaster University’s then newly-opened Bailrigg campus.
HRH Princess Alexandra was the University’s founding chancellor, serving from 1964–2004 as one of the longest serving university chancellors in the UK.
