COVID-19 resurge: DM Kishtwar reviews control measures at DDMA meeting

 

Kishtwar: In view of surge in COVID-19 cases, District Magistrate, Ashok Sharma today chaired a meeting of District Disaster Management Authority here at conference Hall DC office Complex and reviewed the overall preparedness of the district to combat the resurgence.

Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; SDM Chatroo, Inderjeet Parihar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Akhter Hussain Qazi, Chief Medical Officer, Dr R S Manhas, ARTO, Ramesh Kumar Samotra, Tehsildar, Pramood Kumar, Tehsildar Mughal Maidan, Nayeem Iqbal Sheikh, Tehsildars Drabshalla Arun Sharma, besides other officers were present in the meeting.

At the outset, the District Magistrate reviewed the mechanism in place for the implementation of the directions of the State Executive Committee regarding Night Curfew, opening of 50% shops in municipal limits on a rotational basis and operating public transport with 50% seating capacity.

As per the fresh guidelines the “Public transport (matadors/buses/mini-buses etc) in the district shall be permitted to ply only at 50% of its authorized seating capacity and in this context ARTO Kishtwar was directed to ensure compliance of the directions

The meeting also discussed the manpower and resource requirements for COVID-19 mitigation measures.

The CMO was asked to enhance critical care capacity for treatment of Covid-19 cases in the district Hospital and other identified COVID care centres, besides to properly manage the Covid cases to avoid any Chaos.

The CMO was further asked to closely monitor the positive cases in home isolation and provide them with necessary monitoring equipment for better check and control against further spreading of the Virus.

He further stressed on the need to establish a robust vaccination mechanism in the district. He further instructed the officers of Police, Revenue and Health Departments to ensure strict implementation of COVID SOPs and 100% testing at all the entry points.

He also passed slew of directions to concerned Tehsildars for immediate fumigation of religious places, markets and public places of considerable gathering.

All the District heads were exhorted upon to ensure the 100% screening/testing and vaccination of all subordinate officials of their departments.

To stop the influx of virus into the district from outside, he directed CMO to strengthen the testing centre at Thatri entry point for 100 percent testing of travellers.

Status of Vaccination and Sampling was also reviewed besides, the CMO was instructed to make all out efforts for the implementation of the testing, tracing and treatment policy of the Covid management.
