IE University, LexisNexis and LSGL launch global legaltech startup competition
Madrid: IE University, LexisNexis and the Law Schools Global League (LSGL) have launched a new global, virtual startup competition, aimed at discovering new talent and emerging companies in the legaltech industry, and promoting positive uses of technology in the legal realm. Joining forces with LexisNexis, IE Law School (IE University) and the Law Schools Global League would like to announce that they are now accepting applications for the third edition of IE University’s Global Legaltech Venture Days. The finale will take place on June 10 at IE’s Wow Room.
This startup competition is designed to identify and support entrepreneurs, and give them a leg up in the rapidly expanding legaltech industry. The aim is to help legaltech startups advance their business projects, while fostering innovation for the betterment of legal systems and for the advancement of the rule of Law.
The startup competition is underway: entrepreneurs from around the world have until May 27 to apply. After a selection process, five startups will be selected to pitch their project to a panel of judges, industry experts and investors at an online event on June 10.
The winning startup will be mentored by LexisNexis’ VP of Strategy and M&A CEMEA for six months and will get the opportunity to pitch their product or service to a selection of clients.

In past editions, more than 200 startups from around the world applied to the competition.
Guillermo Miranda, Co-Founder of Lucius Report, a Mexican startup that makes compliance easy by focusing on generating due diligence reports, won the first edition in 2019.
Last year, Joe Al-Khayat., co-founder of RDO (Resolve Disputes Online), a company that provides a software as a service and aims to empower ADR experts, courts and tribunals with innovative technology to improve access to justice, received the final prize.
“Our mission is to make justice effortless and accessible and the reason for that is simple: there is a huge issue in relation to access to justice: 57% of the world’s population (4 billion people) live outside the shelter of the law. Our mission is to provide our technology to courts and mediators to empower them,” explained Joe in his final pitch at South Summit.
