Community, PRIs involvement imperative for tackling the Pandemic: DC Anantnag
Anantnag : The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Piyush Singla today said the involvement of PRIs and people at community level is imperative in tackling the surge of cases during the second wave.
He said this while chairing a meeting of officers of district administration, health and other concerned departments here at Dak Bangalow Khanabal.
Addressing the meeting, the DC emphasised that the PRIs through Panchayat Health Clubs would ensure people follow restrictions, SOPs, get vaccinated besides strict home isolation of the positive cases. He directed the Incident Commanders (SDMs) to effectively engage these Health Clubs in an institutional way for Covid-19 Mitigation efforts and monitor operations in their respective jurisdictions.
Stressing upon the health authorities for proper follow up of the home isolated covid-19 cases, he remarked it would be helpful for admitting them in health institutions before any complications set in.
Dr. Singla asked the health officers to earmark 200 beds with low and medium flow oxygen facilities at peripheries/block level for preventing the rush of non-critical covid positive patients to GMC Anantnag.
The DC also directed for proper functioning of dedicated Covid Hospital Bijbihara and Covid Facility Aukura with all basic arrangements.
Highlighting the importance of Sampling vis a vis covid mitigation, Dr.Singla exhorted for cent percent testing of Comorbid persons in a time bound manner.
He also called for proper publicity and functioning of the helpline numbers at district and block levels besides ensuring tele consultations for non covid patients.
Earlier, the CMO informed the DC about the status of testing and positivity rates. It was given out the district has 1547 active positive cases and the rate of testing is about 2000 tests per day.
The DSWO, Nodal Officer, District Covid-19 Control Room, Dr. Peerzada Farhat apprised the chair about the status and functioning of the Control Room adding the grievances received are promptly addressed.
ADC (S), SDMs, ACD, Dy. CMO, MS GMC, Tehsildars, KAS Probationers, BMOs and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the existing Corona curfew and restrictions have been extended in the district till further orders.
