Universal Business School students set up 13 state tracker for COVID resources

7 management students at Mumbai’s Universal Business School (UBS) have launched a COVID task force to share verified and crucial leads on COVID resources like plasma, oxygen tanks and availability of hospital beds in 13 pandemic hit states across India. These 13 states include Maharashtra, Delhi/NCR, UP, West Bengal, Punjab/Chandigarh, Gujarat, Goa, Chhattisgarh, MP, Jharkhand, Telangana, Rajasthan and Karnataka.

It has become apparent over the last month that COVID is a collective fight. India’s demographic dividend, its students cannot be left out of this massive community effort to save lives. Students at the Universal Business School, one of Mumbai’s most innovative business schools at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels have come up with a COVID-RESOURCE TRACKER.

“Our objective behind starting the UBS COVID task force is to help those who don’t have easy access to such crucial information. They can now access verified sources such as contact details and addresses of oxygen tank distributors, plasma donors and COVID hospitals with available beds, through this platform,” says Dr Asha Bhatia, Head- Research and Faculty in charge of ENACTUS at Universal Business School, Mumbai.

The students have been feeding verified leads into a google spreadsheet on a platform called Linktree. This information is corroborated and updated by a network of sources every 24 hours. People can access the information by going through the link or scanning the QR code available on UBS’s various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

“Our team started this initiative on 1st of May and so far we have reached 1,22,000 members and 948 people have accessed the information available on the portal. We are planning to add a few more crucial elements to this tracker soon,” says Sudharma Kambhamettu, student President of ENACTUS Universal Business School, Mumbai.

“UBS’s foundation is built on three ‘E’ i.e. ethics, environment and experiential learning. Social responsibility is one of the crucial elements that encompasses all the three ‘E’s,” adds Tarun Anand, Founder & Chairman, Universal Business School, Mumbai.
