Astroclub “Asterion” holds events for schoolchildren

This spring, members of the Astronomical Club “Asterion” Vladimir Romanov and Niyole Skorikova held a number of events in various educational institutions aimed at popularizing astronomy.
The members of the club held events in various educational institutions of the city: the Technical School of the City Economy, the Petrozavodsk Pedagogical College, the Finno-Ugric School, the Petrozavodsk Presidential Cadet School.

In all the listed institutions, students were told about the activities of the astroclub, information was provided indicating the addresses of various resources of the club, as well as with the schedule of regular online classes held with students and everyone who wants to.

In the Finno-Ugric school, several lectures were held for eleventh grade students on the topic “What is astronomy?” The same lectures were attended by students of the Technical School of Municipal Economy and the Petrozavodsk Pedagogical College. Also, students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the structure and principle of operation of the telescope and, with its help, examine distant buildings.

At the Petrozavodsk Presidential Cadet School for 8th grade students, lectures “Astronomy as a Science”, “Coordinates and Time” were held, as well as observations of the Sun using two telescopes with special solar filters.
