Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC): Ten technological solutions to face the pandemic are highlighted on Engineering Day

Among the technological solutions, ideas that are supporting the equipping of emergency units and hospitals for the care of COVID-19 patients stand out. Also the management and analysis of medical personnel data.

On Engineering Day, which in Chile is commemorated every May 14 , the School of Engineering of the Catholic University valued the contribution of the projects promoted a year ago by academics and students to face the pandemic.

Among the technological solutions, ten ideas stand out that are supporting the equipping of emergency units and hospitals for the care of COVID-19 patients . Also the management and analysis of medical personnel data.

“We structure this work with very concrete goals to reach the peak of the health emergency on time. We hope that all the ideas will contribute to the safety of health personnel, since our lives depend on their being healthy ” , highlighted Juan Carlos de la Llera, Dean of UC Engineering.

The academic authority valued the motivation and commitment of the UC Engineering community in the development of technological proposals and solutions to better face the new challenges brought by the spread of the disease.

The projects are part of the interdisciplinary work table promoted by the UC Vice-rectory for Research , with the support of the Institute of Mathematical and Computational Engineering and the Institute of Biological and Medical Engineering .
