Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin donates Rs one crore to AMU’s Medical College
Aligarh: The Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, has donated rupees one crore for medical equipment for the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital (JNMCH).
The donation has been made for purchasing fowler beds, oxygen concentrators, Bipap Combo, DVT pumps and Syringe pumps.
In a response to a letter addressed to Prof Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor, AMU, Chancellor’s brother Shahzada Dr Qaidjohar Ezzuddin said, “as India continues to tackle the grave challenges posed by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin conveys his salaams, benedictions and prayers for your well-being and that of the University’s faculty, students and their families.”
“Out of concern for the prevailing circumstances at Aligarh and in preparation for potential future waves, His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin has committed rupees one crore to help with the fight against Covid-19 in Aligarh. The amount be used to provide oxygen concentrators, BiPAP machines and other necessary medical equipment to assist and care for the afflicted”, he further said.
Dr Qaidjohar Ezzuddin hoped that this contribution will bring relief to the many patients under the care of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and the other medical facilities of AMU.
Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor thanked the Chancellor His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin for his generous contribution. “AMU fraternity is thankful to the chancellor and his team for their generous donation, and timely help and support”, he said.
Doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff of JN Medical College do perform their duties in a sincere and dedicated manner in this hour of crisis, he further said.
Two vaccination centres are operational in the JN Medical College and installation of an oxygen generator plant is in the process, to ensure adequate supply for current and future needs.
