DC Kulgam briefs media on Covid mitigation measures in the district
Kulgam: Strict Adherence to Covid-19 SOPs has started showing results and positivity rate has also started to decline in the district, however need of the hour is to stick to SOPs to witness much better results in coming days stated Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat here during a press brief.
On the occasion, the DC said that the situation is gradually improving however people have to stick to Covid-19 SOPs for further improvement in the situation.
With regard to availability of Oxygen in the district, the DC said that the 1000 lpm Oxygen generation plant at District hospital is functioning properly while repair work is in progress on the 350 lpm Oxygen Generation plant and it will soon be in service. He said that to deal with any exigency the District administration has also established Oxygen bank.
Giving details on the positive cases in home isolation, the DC said that the Medical kits containing essential medicines are being provided to patients at home isolation besides proper follow up of positive patients is a routine.
The DC said that presently there are 2800 positive cases under home isolation in the district whereas earlier 75 patients were admitted at Covid-19 hospital and after recovery of patients now the number of admitted patients stands 45.
He said that the district administration has placed aggressive testing mechanisms in the district to detect the positive patients and reteriated that it has enhanced infrastructure with better healthcare facilities in the district to save the lives of people.
In order to strengthen Covid care facilities in rural areas Covid care centers with a capacity of 5 beds along with all other requisite facilities at every Panchayat will be established said the DC
He appealed to people for the cooperation and urged for sticking to the precautionary measures for containment of the disease. He advised people to strictly follow the SOPs and guidelines issued by the administration so that spread of this disease is curtailed and added that by collective efforts we will overcome this situation.
