Covid positivity rate on decline in district Samba: DC

 

Samba: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta today said that the district has witnessed a decline in positive Covid cases

“The positivity rate which at one time reached 13% has seen gradual decline and dropped to 2.26%.” the DC said while briefing the media about current status of covid-19 cases and measures taken to contain spread of the pandemic

The DC said the public of Samba has cooperated well and intimated the administration in time regarding suspected cases. She said for intensive testing and sampling mobile vans were deployed across the district which has greatly helped in containing the Covid spread.

Elucidating further, she said the spread of Covid cases in rural Samba was a great concern as 60% of cases were reported from villages. “ Presently there are 2378 active positive cases of which 2280 asymptomatic persons are in home isolation, 76 patients are under treatment in hospitals, while 20 are in Covid care centre” informed the DC samba.

She said that home isolation persons are being regularly monitored through cvoid control room established in DC office. They have been provided Covid management kits containing oximeters, medicines and tips on dos and don’ts. She said that the health department is working round the clock to improve the recovery rate and bring complete halt to the spread of virus.

The DC appealed the public to utilize helpline to avail covid care centre facilities, testing at home and also utilise the service of telemedicine.
