Humari Udaan kickstarts new campaign to felicitate, encourage COVID warriors

New Delhi : In order to celebrate the efforts of the braveheart doctors and nurses during the unprecedented times of the coronavirus pandemic, Humari Udaan, a non-profit organization, today felicitated and encouraged the COVID warriors for their immense contribution under their new initiative HUGS (Humari Udaan Gratitude to Saviours) in an event here.
The ongoing pandemic and the subsequent lockdown and strict curfews have left the world on a halt but, the medical community, being the warriors, is selflessly performing their duties no matter what challenges they are facing in their own lives. They are facing the COVID virus and other fatal fungal infection at the frontlines, putting their lives at risk to keep people safe.

“The COVID warriors are being at the forefront of the battle, putting their lives at risk to keep people safe. We want to convey our heartfelt gratitude and a big hug to the brilliant team of doctors for their selfless commitment and diligence. Their hard work, the long working hours, and the personal sacrifices truly make them the angels on earth. Today, the whole team of Humari Udaan is ensuring that what they do is appreciated. Every hour of their painstaking effort brings us closer to a return to the normal times. We will always be grateful to you,” said Sanjay Dodrajka, Trustee, Humari Udaan.
Humari Udaan is a conglomeration of friends from myriad professions (Doctors, Engineers, Chartered Accountants, MBAs) who came together in 2014 to contribute, and touch people’s lives in every way they could. Ever since their inception they have done various programs including eye checkup and free glasses distribution in MCD schools, imparting knowledge on good touch and bad touch in primary schools, distribution of sewing machines and monthly grocery bags, holding cycle safety camps in factories.

Even during the ongoing pandemic, the NGO didn’t leave any stone unturned to help the masses in arranging oxygen cylinders to distribute home-cooked food to the factory workers. Not only in Delhi, they reached out to the family healthcare centres in Sonepat, Haryana also and provided their assistance.

“When the pandemic struck, we decided that we have to shift our focus on things that got highly affected. Getting the requisite medical attention was the biggest challenge. We started off our work with providing oxygen cylinders for patients at home and at the COVID centres. We also procured oxygen concentrators from the funds we had and sent other related equipment at the COVID centre and various Gurudwaras” added Mr Sanjay Dodrajka.
