World Environment Day- 2021 celebrated at Agriculture Directorate Jammu

Jammu: Department of Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu celebrated World Environment Day today here at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, with the theme of “Ecosystem Restoration”.

Joint Director Agriculture (Extension), Shahid Iqbal Sheikh, JD (Mushroom & Apiculture Development), Iqbal Singh, Agronomist Vegetables, J. C. Raina and other senior officers and Staff of Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director AP & FW, Jammu, K. K. Sharma said that the purpose of celebrating this day is to spread awareness among people, especially children, to conserve the environment in the highest interest of mankind. He highlighted the importance of conserving nature by following eco friendly ways in all walks of life. ‘It is essential to save and rebuild the relationship with nature for a healthy and better future’, he added.

One and all the participants were suggested to take pledge on this noble day to educate the farming community to contribute towards minimizing the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers to protect the soil, water and air from undesirable pollution.
