World blood donor Day observed at STC BSF Udhampur

 

Udhampur: A one day blood donation camp was organized today here at STC BSF Rown Domail by District Red Cross Society, in collaboration with District Hospital and STC BSF to celebrate “World Blood Donor day” on the theme “Give blood and keep the world beating”.

Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib, who is also the Chairperson of District Red Cross Society, was the chief guest and formally inaugurated the camp in presence of Pardeep Katyal, IG BSF, STC.

During the Camp, as many as 42 troops, including 12 women personnel of BWWA STC participated in the camp and donated the blood for the noble cause of saving the precious lives.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC complimented the initiative taken by the District Red Cross Society and Health department for the noble cause of saving the lives. She also appreciated the officers, jawans and Volunteers for participating in blood donation camp.

While highlighting the importance and benefits of blood donation, the DC said that such camps would go a long way to minimize the paucity of blood in health institutions. She called upon the people to come forward to participate in the blood donation camps voluntarily to contribute their bit in the noble endeavor. She advised all to adhere to Covid appropriate behaviour and follow SOPs issued by Govt from time to time.

Pardeep Katyal, IG BSF,STC Udhampur, also spoke on the occasion and said that the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur have motivated the troops of STC Udhampur and praised them for their willingness for blood donation in present scenario of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Prahari Sanginies of BWWA parivar under the guidance of Renu Katyal, president BWWA, STC also participated in this blood donation camp and set an example for others to follow.

Among others, Chief Medical Officer, Dr K C Dogra; Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Dr Vijay Raina; Secretary District Red Cross Society, Dr V.P Sharma; officers/Jawans of BSF besides officials of Blood Bank District Hospital were present on the occasion.
